Presenting...the Brauntex Theatre!
New Braunfels is well-known for its beautiful scenery and gorgeous rivers. Nestled in the middle of the Hill Country, it is one of the most popular places to live and visit.
But did you know that located in this growing Hill Country community is also one of the oldest and best entertainment spots around?
The Brauntex Theatre, was originally built in 1942 in downtown New Braunfels. It operated for decades before closing and falling into disrepair.
In the late 1990s, a group of concerned citizens took it upon themselves to reclaim the theatre and bring it back to life.
The Brauntex Performing Arts Theatre Association assumed ownership of the building in December of 1999, and immediately began the hard task of refurbishing the theatre.
The group worked quickly, and soon, the doors would open for its first performance.
Fifteen years later, the Brauntex Theatre is still bringing world class performances to New Braunfels, enriching the lives of all who attend.
Coming up in August, Billy Bob Thornton and the Boxmasters will grace the stage. In January, Chubby Checker and the Oak Ridge Boys will perform. Among others to perform over the next several months are Peter Noone, Rita Coolidge, and Raul Malo.
The first weekend in August, The Jungle Book Kids show will be presented.
There is no shortage of entertainment at the Brauntex Theatre!
